Why research abroad?

Multitude of opportunities and resources abroad

Many Indian students aspire to have a career in research and development and add intellectual and scholarly value to their fields. But research in many sectors and areas in India is in the early stages of advancement.  Thus, a person yearning to pursue profound and advanced research in say genetic engineering or molecular degeneration or bio-medical engineering, would often find inadequate resources. Doctoral programs in countries such as the U.S., the U.K., Canada, Australia and a few of the European countries are thus sought after by the students for the numerous opportunities and the excellent quality of education.

Plethora of research options in numerous fields abroad

Doctoral programs in abroad are available in most academic fields, including life sciences such as molecular biology, cell biology, evolutionary biology,  neuroscience, oncology, pharmacology, pharmaceutics, evolutionary genetics, biotechnology; social sciences such as economics, psychology, sociology, anthropology, etc.;  natural sciences, humanities; arts; business; healthcare and education; engineering, etc. Doctoral programs abroad offer a range of flexibility and aspirants can choose to specialize or do inter-disciplinary research.

Miscellaneous funding opportunities and schemes

Doctoral programs in foreign universities and mainly in the American universities are usually funded by the university, industry or the government. Ph.D. students typically receive a tuition waiver and some form of annual stipend. Fellowships and research and teaching assistantships could also be helpful for a Ph.D. student to fund the doctoral program.

Ph.D. possible even after bachelor’s

Outstanding undergraduate students with various projects, paper publications and research experience in India can find suitable PhD options in USA. These students are given admissions only on the basis of their bachelor’s degree. During their doctorate studies they need to take certain courses of master’s level and fulfill the requirements of PhD curriculum. This is particularly beneficial for B.Pharm students. In the last 5 years we have helped more than 10 B.Pharm students to secure admissions directly for Ph.D. programs in the U.S.. However, it is important that the student has excellent academic record, research orientation and good GRE and TOEFL scores.
