In this article, we will try to give you more specific features viz. OCGC Programs, SPP, Work Permit, etc that have made Canada highly popular among Indian students.

OCGC Program- Ontario Colleges’ Graduate Certificate Program

Wide range of OCGC programs are offered by various community colleges spread across the state of Ontario. These programs are for one year or two years durations. OCGC programs offer diversity unmatched in Canada. As the demands of the workplace have evolved, so have the types of credentials being offered by the colleges. Most colleges are currently offering a variety of program types to suit the needs of both students and employers. These programs are highly popular among Indian students as they give better chances of employment and the tuition fees are quite economical compared to other postgraduate programs in Canadian universities.

These graduate certificate progams require students to have a university degree or a college certificate or diploma for admission, building on knowledge and experience gained through previous postsecondary study. You can find the list of graduate certificate programs on: http://www.ontariocolleges.ca/SearchResults/_/N-1z141vs

SPP – Student Partnership Program

The Student Partnership Program (SPP) is a pilot project designed and implemented in partnership between the Canadian visa offices in India and the Association of Canadian Community Colleges (ACCC). 42 of ACCC’s member colleges have been involved in the pilot which was launched in April 2009 to improve student recruitment outcomes.

This pilot program aims to test a model for expediting the student visa process and delivering higher approval rates while maintaining program integrity.

At this time, SPP is open to Indian nationals only.  Application submission under the SPP is at the discretion of each member college.

Under this Program Student applicant who holds the admission from a SPP Participating Institute with out an English Program requirement and also has GIC will be Put on Fast Track and stand a very Good Chance of Visa Approval.

All Study Permit application checklists have been revised and improved as a result of the SPP framework to help students make simpler applications.
