IELTS – The Friendly International English Language Test

IELTS

 IELTS (International English Language Testing System) is the most popular and extensively used test of English language for study, work and migration. More than 2 million people appear for IELTS examination every year and over 9000 organizations in 140 countries accept IELTS.

There are basically two types of IELTS tests:
1) IELTS Academic test (taken for the purpose of studying in those countries where English language is used)
2) IELTS General Training test (taken by those going to English Speaking countries for secondary education, work experience or training. People migrating to Australia, Canada, New Zealand and the UK need to take General Training test.

IELTS test is divided in 4 modules viz. Reading, Listening, Speaking and Writing. TOEFL and PTE are the other internationally accepted English language tests.
